WHO WE ARE

The HHC Foundation was created in 2001 by The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) to provide a vehicle for raising private, philanthropic funds to support the activities of HHC, the nation’s largest municipal healthcare system. The HHC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, closely affiliated with HHC, but separately governed and managed.

HHC

Operating a network consisting of 11 acute care hospitals, 6 diagnostic and treatment centers, 4 long-term care facilities, over 80 community clinics, and a home healthcare agency; HHC serves as a model -- an efficient, safe, effective, and patient-centered healthcare delivery system that patients need and deserve.

HHC’S MISSION

  • To extend equally to all New Yorkers, regardless of their ability to pay, comprehensive health services of the highest quality in an atmosphere of humane care, dignity and respect;

  • To promote and protect, as both innovator and advocate, the health, welfare and safety of the people of the City of New York;

  • To join with other health workers and with communities in a partnership which will enable each of our institutions to promote and protect health in its fullest sense -- the total physical, mental and social well-being of the people.
